When is enough cold-outreach enough?

Ah, the persistent pursuit of motivation! Tony Robbins, the iconic life coach, is no stranger to reaching out. But what happens when โ€œreaching outโ€ turns into โ€œreaching too far?โ€

Picture this: Youโ€™ve signed up for an inspirational newsletter or two, and suddenly your inbox is filled with no less than 12 emails in a single month, 3 in one single day! Letโ€™s not even mention the 14 calls and 5 texts, shall we? (Oops, we just did.) Itโ€™s the digital ageโ€™s version of โ€œknock-knock, whoโ€™s there?โ€ Except, no one invited this visitor, and heโ€™s brought all his friends.

Now donโ€™t get us wrong, Tonyโ€™s got a way with words that can ignite passion in a damp sponge. But thereโ€™s a fine line between sparking interest and igniting annoyance. One subscriber was so overwhelmed they blocked the lot! Ouch.

So, where does one draw the line? When does passion turn into a full-on pursuit? Letโ€™s ponder that while adhering to the unspoken rules of engagement.

The Balanced Approach: Mixing It Up

?1. Never the Same Vehicle in the Same Day: If you call in the morning, donโ€™t leave a voicemail if youโ€™re planning to call back later. Save that heartfelt message for the final attempt of the day.

? 2. Email Etiquette: Two emails a day? Oh no, my friend. Itโ€™s like double-dipping at a party โ€“ socially frowned upon. Aim for a gap of at least 3 days. Keep them wanting more without becoming โ€œthat person.โ€

โค๏ธ3. LinkedIn & SMS Love: A LinkedIn message here, an SMS there โ€“ spice things up! But remember, variety is the spice of life, not the main course.

In the end, itโ€™s all about balance and knowing when enough is enough. Just because you can reach out in a multitude of ways doesnโ€™t mean you should. Because, letโ€™s face it, nobody wants to end up on the blocked list!

Remember, dear readers, cold outreach is like a dance. Lead with grace, not desperation. Sometimes, less is indeed more. In the wise words of our overly enthusiastic friend Tony, โ€œThe only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment.โ€ Letโ€™s just make sure that commitment doesnโ€™t turn into obsession.

Keep dancing but be mindful of your partnerโ€™s toes.
